Online Shopping: The Indiana WIC Client Experience

Project Summary:

Indiana WIC (IN WIC) will conduct a feasibility study of WIC-approved vendors to determine capacity, willingness, and barriers to implementing a WIC online shopping solution. Due to the high percentage of rural communities and increasing refugee population with top languages changing rapidly, IN WIC aims to gather data by conducting focus groups across the state to ensure it is representative of the populations served. These focus groups will gain insight on how current WIC clients interact with online shopping platforms, how they redeem their current WIC benefits, and any barriers to implementing WIC online shopping in IN. Additionally, IN WIC will present findings to their WIC online shopping workgroup, conduct a SWOT analysis, and create a mitigation plan. IN WIC will utilize feedback from WIC client and vendor focus groups to determine a road map, next steps, and a model for implementation of a WIC online shopping solution.
